Deutsche Telekom leads '6G NeXt' research project for extended reality applications

Fraunhofer FOKUS is part of a new 6G extended reality research consortium lead by the Deutsche Telekom called 6G NeXt. The goal is to develop an infrastructure whose integrated network and software layer enables new processing speeds and implements the dynamic distribution of complex computing tasks (split computing).

Local 5G network assists in the fight against forest fires

One third of all forest fires in Germany occur in the federal state of Brandenburg. This is where the ALADIN (Advanced Low Altitude Data Information System) project aims to set up a mobile 5G campus network to obtain real time information on the situation. Deutsche Telekom, Bosch take part in campus network project in Germany

Fraunhofer FOKUS supports 6G research hubs in Germany

Fraunhofer Fokus and Norigin Media develop OTT ad replacement platform

Fraunhofer FOKUS has developed a new advertising system for pay-TV operators, in partnership wit the Scandinavian company Norigin Media. The over-the-top (OTT) ad tech will provide pay-TV operators with the ability to identify ads on premium streaming services and replace them with advertising aimed at specific target groups.

Fraunhofer Institute carries out positive test of 5G core network with various manufacturers

AI-based electronic solutions can make autonomous driving safer

5G Automotive Association tests C-V2X technologies in Berlin

At the live demonstration of the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), smart mobility experts of Fraunhofer FOKUS presented two use cases of C-V2X technology, which included warning before emergency braking and construction sites, and tele-operated driving. For the latter demo, a system has been developed that enables a teleoperator to switch to automated control in the event of an emergency, thus enabling unforeseen obstacles to be mastered reliably.

Eclipse Foundation launches openMobility group to plan future of autonomous cars
